Graduation 2009 (and a night out )…

A couple of weeks ago it was our student graduation. I find this time in the academic calendar to be a very rewarding one. The graduation gives me a chance to catch up with students who have left, and to find out how they are getting on. I love to be there and celebrate with them their success. Many have found employment, which is no mean feat in this current climate. And there is always cause for a bit of a night out afterwards!

Elizabeth (another lecturer) and myself ended up heading out to meet friends and partners to keep the celebrations going a little longer. We headed to a great wee indie club night on the south side of Glasgow called ibop. It’s only on once a month and finishes early by club standards, but you always have a good night. And this was no exception!

CT Call for Studio Saturday

Do you like playing with templates and embellishments? Can you take a template and work creatively with it, making it look unique and individual.

If the answer is yes, then I would love to hear from you!

REQUIREMENTS: 3 layouts a month using Studio Saturday Templates posting to DST and two other galleries, along with participation in our friendly and relaxed CT forum.

Closing date for applications 14th November 2009.

Since it’s the month of Thanksgiving I thought it would be a good way to start off our challenges by taking time to really think about who and what means the world to us and why we should be thankful. To help you on your creative journey I have created four pieces of word art that you can download for free here.

All you have to do to take part in the challenge is to create your layout, post it in the gallery of your choice, then come back here and leave a comment with a link back to your layout.

Brrrr it’s starting to get cold!

Well, firstly I would like to welcome you to my blog, and the fact that I am so super excited to be opening Studio Saturday. I have been working away really hard to get some varied bits and pieces in the shop that hopefully you will enjoy. The weather has been progressively getting worse, and the nights darker, so it has made it a little easier to be working away behind the computer

Last weekend though was absolutely gorgeous, if a little chilly. Stephen (my partner) and I took a lovely walk through Rouken Glen Park, and took some pictures that captured the autumnal feel.

I thought that it would be quite fun to capture our feet as we were walking. It kind of looks as though it was an accident which is quite cool.
